In our experience, between 4 is the perfect number, and we're licensed for up to four passengers. Because we have an "extra long" vehicle, we have plenty of space for your luggage as well.
aRE YOU INSURED FOR ALL RISKS?
Yes, we hold comprehensive, hire-and-reward insurance for all risks. However, we highly recommend that you book personal travel insurance in case of illness, emergencies, theft, and cancellations.
can i combine some of your tours into multi-day packages? Or can I create my own multi-day tour?
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
Absolutely! We pride ourselves on our flexibility and adaptability. Our listing of tours are only "suggestions" - we can put something together based on your interests and requirements. Recently we were approached about taking a group of visitors from Thailand for a multi-day tour to Scotland!
For multiple day tours, we have a daily set price of £500 for up to 4 passengers. There is also an overnight subsistence fee of £100. As an example, a three-day, two-night tour (£500 x 3) + (£100 x 2) costs £1700. Your accommodation, meals, and entry fees are not included, but we can arrange this all for you, based on your budget and have you either pay the sites directly or by reimbursing us. Parkgate Tours does not take a commission or cut on accommodation, meals, or entry fees.

can you adapt your tours to groups with children?
Yes, not a problem! Between the two of us, we have raised/are raising five children, each with different interests in history, nature, geology, etc. If you are travelling with children, we can recommend some options with stopovers or attractions that often capture the imagination of our younger guests. We are happy to arrange extra stops for quick snacks or toilet breaks. We can also help with suggesting topics for research or homework projects for older children who might have been asked to report back on certain aspects of their trip to England. Give Holly a call or send an email to start the conversation.
we really want to take one of your tours, but we are not very mobile. Do we have to do a lot of walking?
This is another area where we can make adoptions as needed. We have a step stool available to help getting into/out of the vehicle and we have room for zimmer frames, wheel chairs, and other mobility aids in the back of the vehicle. We can recommend which of our tours are more suitable for those with limited mobility. For example, the Cotswolds is a stunning landscape and if you would rather focus on a driving tour, limiting in's and out's of the vehicle, we are happy to accommodate.
CAN YOU PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF IN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS?
Yes, not a problem. We will confirm tour pricing for you based on your specific pick-up and drop-off points.
WE ARE AVID WALKERS/HIKERS AND HAVE HEARD THAT THERE ARE SOME STUNNING WALKS IN THE COUNTRYSIDE.
cAN YOU INCLUDE THIS IN our TOUR?
cAN YOU INCLUDE THIS IN our TOUR?
We share your passion for the outdoors and nature. From the wildflowers, pristine green fields, and baby sheep in springtime, to the explosion of colour witnessed during the summer and autumn, we have some tried-and-true walks through the countryside designed to let you enjoy the quiet sounds of nature and breathe in fresh country air. Maybe even get some Vitamin D on a sunny day! Many of our walks incorporate the streams and river valleys that are dotted across the countryside, giving you the opportunity to perhaps spot an interesting bird, wild butterflies, or badger dens. Our walks range from typically 5KM to 8KM, with shorter ones available through quaint villages with traditional thatched cottages with wooden beams and many original features. Tell us about your fitness level, what you're most interested in seeing, and we'll propose a couple of walk options based on the area we're touring in. Don't forget to bring your broken in hiking boots or shoes!
SOME OF THE PHOTOS ON YOUR WEBSITE ARE WONDERFUL - WHERE DO YOU GET THERM FROM?
Other than the historical documents related to King Charles II, ALL of the photographs on our website were taken personally by either Holly or Richard. We are happy to design a tour around interesting photography opportunities - focusing on architecture, medieval villages, churches, or gardens/nature, for example.
