Who we are and what we offer
Parkgate Tours is a small, family-operated, private hire service based in Wiltshire. Now looking to capitalise on our shared love and knowledge of the well-known (and not-so-well-known) areas of England, we invite you to experience beautiful gardens, historical sites, amazing food, and one-off experiences as our guests.
Aside from English, we speak French and German and are happy to conduct tours and/or correspond in either of these languages.
If you are already spending time in a city such as Bath, for example, but fancy a day in the Cotswolds, we can take you there. Or if you are visiting London and would like to spend a day (or several) exploring England, Wales, or further afield, we can either meet you at a train station near to where your chosen tour will start, or we can pick you up/drop you at an agreed-upon location (including London). The same holds true if you are a passenger from a cruise line - if you have only a half-day or a full-day to spare, we'll help you make the most of it. Airport transfers can be arranged and we have plenty of room in our vehicle for all your luggage.

Your Guides
Richard Davidson is your host and driver for the day. A graduate of Cambridge University in linguistics, Richard has been driving professionally for more than 20 years. Prior to that, he lived and worked all over the world during his years as a student and as a travel journalist, which took him to places such as France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Australia, Vietnam, and Germany. He also arranged and ran safaris in Zambia and Kenya for a year. Aside from languages, Richard is fascinated by history and culture. No one can quite tell a story like he can and his passion for sharing local history and legends is evident as soon as he starts talking! Holly Davidson is your initial contact at Parkgate Tours. She will support you in setting up your trip, work through the logistics of your visit, and accompany you on your tour whenever possible. A Chicago native, Holly graduated university with degrees in international business and economics. The bulk of her career has been spent in global HR, working for multi-national consultancies and financial services firms on projects across four continents. After living in France and Germany, Holly settled in the UK 12 years ago. Running Parkgate Tours with Richard gives her the opportunity to share her love for her adopted country with visitors from around the globe. |
Your Transportation
We own a 2021 Mercedes Vito Tourer Select (extra long) minibus, which will be your "home on wheels" during your tour. Fully equipped with back passenger vents for heating and air conditioning, we chose the top-of-the-range Vito with the express intent of providing a luxury vehicle and high-end transportation for our tour guests. Charging points are available to power your phones or tablets. Aside from space for passengers, the extra long Vito allows us to carry a large quantity of luggage as well. We are fully licensed and insured for up to four passengers. |
